MANAHAT SPUR

Archaeological reconstruction of a Middle Bronze Age funerary garden in the Refa'im Valley near Jerusalem, based on date palm and myrtle pollen recovered from sealed tomb contexts. Drawing on Egyptian parallels, the study interprets these ancient plantings as ritual funerary landscapes embodying regeneration and rebirth, where deliberate symbolic vegetation transformed Canaanite burial grounds into spaces of ancestral memory.
